Description:
Within a roped-shape circle the reverse depicts a richly detailed image of HMAS Sydney III, a veteran of two tours of duty during the Korean War and completed 24 round trips between Australia and Vung Tau during the Vietnam War, in the middle. The upper half of the design captures the battle honors of it within a ribbon and emblem of HMAS Sydney III and The lower half of the design the face value "2 DOLLARS" against the map of "Afro-Eurasia" and Australia where the battles occurred in the background. The inscription "100 YEARS OF THE ROYAL AUSTRALIAN NAVY" around above - the coin name - and the submarine name "H.M.A.S. SYDNEY III" around below. The dates "1911 - 2011" are inscribed on both sides.
