Description:
The coin’s reverse features a wandering albatross flying over the Southern Ocean. The bird itself is etched within the outline of Antarctica while the Southern Ocean scene in the background is displayed in full color. The beauty of the colored background is that it allows to make out even the smallest details, such as a rigid edge in the iceberg and the individual ripples of ocean water. Along the outer edge of the coin’s reverse are inscriptions which read “Australian Antarctic Territory”, “2014 Wandering Albatross.” In the left field, The P mint mark of the Perth Mint and the designer's initials (NM) at the opposite below the albatross left wing. Around right below the metal, weight and purity "1 OZ 99.9 SILVER."
