Description:
The reverse features a central opal inlay, where the shimmering gemstone has been laser-cut to depict a detailed masked owl sits in the hollow of a tree, radiating with iridescent flashes of blue, green, and fiery hues. Around the opal are finely engraved the Southern Cross constellation a renowned star group which is only visible in the Southern hemisphere, an array of eucalyptus leaves and blossoms, a waning gibbous moon, reflecting the animal’s nocturnal nature The inscriptions include MASKED OWL, alongside the Perth Mint’s “P” mintmark. The metal, weight and purity marks “1oz 999 SILVER,” date "2014" and the designer's initials (AH) below next to letter (M) of (MASKED).
