Description:
The obverse features Fourth crowned portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, encircled by the inscriptions: ELIZABETH II – AUSTRALIA – 1 DOLLAR – 2010 – 1oz 999 SILVER. The transparent locket continues through to the obverse, allowing the brilliant gold nuggets to be admired from both sides.

The reverse features a stylized Australian landscape with dramatic skies and a lone tree on the horizon, a tribute to the country’s vast and mineral-rich outback. The lower half of the coin holds a transparent locket capsule containing genuine natural gold nuggets, a rare and precious symbol of Australia’s historic gold rush. Around the border is the inscription Treasures of Australia. In the right field, the designer's initials (JG) appears discreetly below the bare tree and The Perth Mint’s “P” mintmark is not included.
