Description:
The coin portrays a representation of a wedge-tailed eagle by John M. Mercanti, the 12th Chief Engraver of the US Mint (retired). The magnificent bird is shown clutching a branch with its massive talons as it raises its wings in preparation to take flight. The inscriptions read "AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE" around above right, "2022 – 1 oz 9999 SILVER" found around below left denotes the year, weight, content, and purity, with the Perth Mint “P” mintmark completing the design at bottom and the designer's initials (JM) appears discreetly below on a branch.
