Description:
The reverse depicts an American bald eagle with outstretched wings; in front of the eagle and partly obscuring it, the Shield of the United States, in the upper of which there are thirteen stars, and in the lower thirteen stripes; in front of that, a cornucopia (:horn of plenty") with wheat stalks, grapes and a laurel branch - "representing America's strength and beauty". Around above the eagle, thirteen stars. The recurring number 13 represents the first 13 states which formed the union which later expanded to become the modern United States, above, the country name. Below the eagle, the face value $10 and the precious metal content.
