The design also features the following inscriptions: the words "KRALJ TOMISLAV" (King Tomislav), the year of the coronation of King Tomislav "925.", the issuing country "REPUBLIKA HRVATSKA" (Republic of Croatia) and the year of issue, which are all inscribed circularly along the edge of the coin's core. The national side of the coin is designed by sculptor Nikola Vudrag. The central motif is his adaptation of the original work by sculptor Robert Franges Mihanovic from 1938. The coin’s outer ring bears the 12 stars of the European flag.
