Behind it two national symbols: on the right, the "southern cross," a constellation of stars representing Australia, which also appears on the Australian flag; and on the left, the "stars and stripes," representing the United States, symbolizing the decisive carrier battle fought in the Pacific in 1945. In the right side, the P mint mark of the Perth Mint. Below, the initials of the designer (TV). Around the rim, the inscription "VICTORY IN THE PACIFIC" above, and date "1945" below.
