The reverse features a representation of depiction of the Hand of Faith nugget (The largest gold nugget still in existence and the second biggest ever found, the Hand of Faith was discovered by Kevin Hillier near Kingower, Victoria,), with its name and year of discover "GOLDEN EAGLE 1931" below it surrounded by a starburst background (stylized rays of sunlight not quite reaching the center). Above the image, the words “THE AUSTRALIAN NUGGET 1/20 OZ. 9999 GOLD” curve around the top edge, while below the design, the year “1990.” The layout is clean and the engraving crisp, highlighting the artistic capabilities of the Perth Mint’s master engravers. The P mint mark of the Perth Mint is above the date.
