The reverse design features the South Australian Coat of Arms (The Coat of Arms of South Australia proclaimed in 1984, features the State name, South Australia on an ornate scroll that overlays a collage of symbols of the agricultural and industrial base on which the state was founded. Sitting on the grassy mound is a shield with the State Basge, the Piping Shrike. Immediately above the shield sitting on a wreath are four sprigs of crismson Sturt's Desert Pea, the State's beautiful floral emblem that flowers throughout the interier of South Australia.) granted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1984 replacing the original granted in 1936, representing one of 9 states and territories that make up Australia. Flanking the Coat of Arms are the dates 1901 and 2001. Around above, CENTENARY OF FEDERATION. Around below, the face value FIFTY CENTS.
