Description:
The reverse design features the Queensland Coat of Arms (The shiled on the Queensland Coat of Arms, features a sheaf of wheat, the heds of a bull and ram to represent primary industries, and a column of gold on top of a mound of quartz to symbolise mining. The supporters of the arms, assigned in 1977, are the Brolga representing native-born Queenslanders, and a Red Deer that symbolises the contribution made by migrants from the United Kingdom and Europe.
At the top of the Coat of Arms, frames by two stalks of sugar cane, is the State badge - a blue Maltese Cross with a Royal Crown super-imposed. The State's Latin motto; "Audax at Fidelis" or 'Bold but Faithful' is quoted at the base of the Coat of Arms.) the oldest in Australia, granted by Queen Victoria in 1893, representing one of 9 states and territories that make up Australia. The Coat of Arms symbolizes the Queen's constitutional authority in the state. Flanking the Coat of Arms are the dates 1901 and 2001. Around above, CENTENARY OF FEDERATION. Below the Coat of Arms, QUEENSLAND. Around below, the face value FIFTY CENTS.
