The central design is framed with lily of the valley, one of the Queen’s favorite flowers and golden wattle, Australia’s national floral emblem. In a circle below the portraits, the Queen's cypher E II R (for Elizabeth II Regina - from Latin, "Elizabeth the Second, Queen), crowned with the Crown of St Edward.
