Madonna and Child, a detail from Filippo Lippi’s ‘Madonna and Child with Two Angels’; above are the inscriptions ‘SAN MARINO’ and ‘FILIPPO LIPPI’ and on the left are the year ‘1469’ and the letter ‘R’ identifying the Mint of Rome. On the bottom left are the initials of the artist Maria Angela Cassol ‘M.A.C.’, and in the centre the year ‘2019’. The coin’s outer ring bears the 12 stars of the European flag.
