Description:
The reverse shows the RAAF badge surrounded by the legend Royal Australian Air Force 1921 - 2001. The RAAF badge depicts an Australian wedge tailed eagle, the imperial crown of Britain, and the words Royal Australian Air Force. The latin motto, per ardua ad astra means "through struggle to the stars" and is the same motto used by the RAF and dates back to the original Royal Flying Corps (pre-cursor to the RAF) in 1912. The denomination ONE DOLLAR below.
